Ruth MacMillan
I have worked with children, teenagers and adults who are struggling with a range of emotional issues:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Addiction
- Self-harm
- Abuse
- Sexual Assault
- Domestic Violence.
In my experience each client is an individual and your circumstances are unique to you. I draw on a variety of theoretical approaches to help you gain insight into yourself and we work together to find solutions that suit your life.
Talking through problems can provide relief from difficult emotions as sharing with a trained counsellor promotes self-compassion. I work creatively which can open up new perspectives to help you to understand yourself and your experience better.
I offer open-ended counselling and review the work regularly. It important to my practice that the work I do is productive and is providing meaningful support.
