Hello, I’m Ruth Trickey, a counsellor working with children, teenagers, and adults, supporting people with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

People come to see me for support with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and trauma.

I have experience in domestic abuse and addiction. I work with the psychological impact of coercive and narcissistic abuse, where people may struggle with confusion, loss of identity, or a sense of “not trusting their own reality.” My work supports clients to recognise these patterns, understand their effects, and begin to heal.

My background includes supporting survivors of abuse within housing services, as well as working in recovery settings with people affected by dependency.

I also trained with Place2Be in play therapy, which informs my work with children and young people. Using creative approaches and play can help when feelings are hard to express.

My approach is person-centred and collaborative. Every person’s story is unique, and I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Together, we make sense of your experiences and explore ways forward that fit you and your life.

Hi there, I am Helen Neale. A counsellor with a big smile and a passion for helping others to find their own way, no matter the obstacles.

I have extensive experience of helping with various challenges and life events including anxiety, depression, and bereavement. I am passionate about working with neurodivergence, in both children and adults, such as ADHD and autism, in a neuro-affirming way, incorporating sensory experiences into the counselling room where appropriate and led by you.

I am here to help you to work through your problems to find the solution that works for you, and your circumstances without judgement and with a kind smile.

I am available to listen, and to support you to make the choices that work for you in your life. Everyone is different, and I draw on various approaches that work for your unique circumstances.

My own personal experiences of mental illness, neurodiversity, sexual identity, bereavement, and addictions add to our knowledge together. These lived experiences don’t cloud the ability to step into your world, and show empathy, they enhance it as we work together in a common goal to empower you to make change.

Note: Helen currently has no available sessions, and is operating a waiting list.
