I work with children, teenagers, and adults, specialising in the areas of domestic abuse and addiction. My experience includes supporting victims of abuse in housing services and working in recovery with people affected by dependency. I also trained with Place2Be in play therapy, which has given me creative tools to help children and young people express themselves when words are hard to find.

Every person’s story is unique, and my approach is always person-centred. Together we explore your world, gently making sense of your experiences and finding the solutions that fit best for you. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel heard, supported, and able to move towards positive change. I offer open-ended counselling and review the work regularly. It important to my practice that the work I do is productive and is providing meaningful support.

Hi there, I am Helen Neale. A counsellor with a big smile and a passion for helping others to find their own way, no matter the obstacles.

I have experience of helping with various challenges and life events including anxiety, depression, and bereavement. I am passionate about working with neurodivergence, such as ADHD and autism, in a neuro-affirming way, incorporating sensory experiences into the counselling room where appropriate and led by you.

I am here to help you to work through your problems to find the solution that works for you, and your circumstances without judgement and with a kind smile.

I am available to listen, and to support you to make the choices that work for you in your life. Everyone is different, and I draw on various approaches that work for your unique circumstances.

My own personal experiences of mental illness, neurodiversity, sexual identity, bereavement, and addictions add to our knowledge together. These lived experiences don’t cloud the ability to step into your world, and show empathy, they enhance it as we work together in a common goal to empower you to make change.

Note: Helen currently has no available sessions, and is operating a waiting list.
